TANZANIA NATIONAL PARKS & WILDLIFE

Tanzania’s unsurpassed array of parks and reserves is one of its biggest drawcards. Crowning the collection is the magnificent Serengeti National Park where million-strong beards of wildebeest trammel the seemingly endless plains. Nearby, the steeply sloping sides of Ngorongoro Crater serve as a backdrop for the ever-changing drama of one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Ruaha National Park with its sublime riverine setting is worth as much time as you can give it, as are the vast, baobab-studded expanses of the Nyerere National Park ex Selous Game Reserve. Katavi National Park is as unspoiled as it gets, rivalled only by remote Mahale Mountains National Park, one of the best places on the continent for tracking chimps.
