Marangu Route 5 days is best for first time climbers and Marangu route is the easiest route up Kilimanjaro summit compared to other routes. Climbers on this route experience moderate trekking from the starting day to Kibo huts but after Kibo hut to the summit the trek is physically demanding as the path is tiring.
Marangu Route, commonly known as the Coca Cola route is more popular because it can be done in fewer days and has permanent sleep huts at the campsites. Summit night from Kibo Hut is steep and passes Gilman’s Point to Uhuru Peak.
The Machame route is one of the most beautiful and most popular trekking tours on Kilimanjaro. The trail starts in the lush rainforest with views of Mount Meru, Shira Ridge as well the main summit of the Kilimanjaro – Kibo peak.
Machame Route: Very scenic, very popular, Good acclimatization due to walking high in the day and sleeping lower at night, success rate is fairly high, it is a difficult route better suited for more adventurous folks. Accommodation is in camps.
The Lemosho route is lesser known.It begins on the western side of Kilimanjaro. Walking through the rainforest for the first two days the vegetation changes to heath and moorland with many ferns and ericas along the way.
The Lemosho route is traditionally one of the quieter and lesser-known routes on the mountain. It’s also the newest and probably the most diverse in terms of the ecological systems and landscapes it passes through.
